Podcast Season 3, episode 19 – This week on the Sierra Rec Now podcast, we’re joined by special guest Mike Mullin from @lakesofyosemite on Instagram. Mike and I delve deep into our mutual love for Yosemite National Park, and discuss his incredible year-long project to photograph every single named lake within the park boundaries.
Mike has been a friend of ours over social channels for years and has helped us discover many great places in Yosemite. We meet shortly after he completed a project called Lakes of Desolation and i have been following Mikes incredible journey to hike in an photograph all these beautiful locations. As you might expect, life, Covid and other things outside of Mikes control have provided obstacles to completing this mission. that being said he is on the final leg and hopes to complete that project in 2024.
As longtime Yosemite enthusiasts, we geek out about hidden gems, favorite trails, and the unique challenges Mike faced in completing his ambitious project. Mike has also shared tons of insightful backpacking and exploration tips with me over the years, and he shares some of his wisdom with you in this episode.
